Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Voice of Dahc ("the app," "Relay") is a personal, single-user software project built and operated by Chad Riffle for his own private use. It is not offered to the public, has no other users, and collects no data from anyone other than its own operator.

What data this app accesses

The app requests the Gmail API scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send. This scope allows the app to send email on the authorized account's behalf only. It does not grant, and the app does not request, any ability to read, search, list, or otherwise access the contents of any mailbox, contacts, or other Google Workspace data.

How this data is used

When Chad issues a voice request that requires sending an email (for example, "email me that file"), the app composes a message and sends it via the Gmail API, using a Google account Chad controls and has authorized for this purpose. Every send is gated behind an explicit approval step: a push notification is sent to Chad's own phone, and the email is only sent after he taps to approve it.

How this data is stored

The app stores an OAuth refresh token locally, on Chad's own home computer, in a configuration file that is never transmitted anywhere except directly to Google's own token-refresh endpoint to obtain short-lived access tokens. No email content, recipient list, or send history is stored, logged remotely, or shared with any third party. Sent messages exist only in the sending Gmail account's own "Sent" folder, managed entirely by Google.

Data sharing

This app does not share, sell, or transfer any data — Google user data or otherwise — to any third party. It has no advertising, analytics, or third-party integrations of any kind.

Retention and deletion

The stored refresh token remains valid until Chad revokes it (via Google Account permissions) or deletes it from his own machine. No other user data is retained.
